Description
Trial by Terror is a 1952 Cold War thriller novel by American author Paul Gallico. The novel centers around a young American newspaperman working in the Paris office of the Chicago Sentinel who is appalled by the hanging of an American in Hungary as a spy. He rashly decides to go into Hungary himself to find out what is happening, and is inevitably captured and accused of spying himself.
The book was adapted into a film titled Assignment: Paris in 1952, starring Dana Andrews and George Sanders.
