Description
“The Sittaford Mystery” is a detective novel written by Agatha Christie. It was first published in 1931 under the alternative title “Murder at Hazelmoor” in the United States. The novel is one of Christie’s standalone works, not featuring her famous detectives Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple.
The story is set in the remote village of Sittaford during a snowstorm. A séance is being conducted, and during the proceedings, a message comes through that Captain Trevelyan, a wealthy man, has been murdered. As the participants try to make sense of the message, news arrives that Captain Trevelyan has indeed been found dead. The mystery unfolds as characters in the village and the nearby town become suspects, and secrets are revealed.
As with many of Agatha Christie’s works, “The Sittaford Mystery” is known for its clever plotting, unexpected twists, and a classic whodunit atmosphere. It’s a compelling read for fans of mystery and detective fiction.
