Description
“Shalimar the Clown” is a novel written by Salman Rushdie and published in 2005. The story is set in Kashmir and follows the life of a young man named Shalimar who becomes a skilled tightrope walker and falls in love with a beautiful dancer named Boonyi. However, their relationship is destroyed when she marries a powerful politician named Max Ophuls, who is also the American ambassador to India.
