Description

The spellbinding new Robert Langdon novel from the author of The Da Vinci Code.

Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology and religious iconology, arrives at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend the unveiling of a discovery that “will change the face of science forever”. The evening’s host is his friend and former student, Edmond Kirsch, a forty-year-old tech magnate whose dazzling inventions and audacious predictions have made him a controversial figure around the world. This evening is to be no exception: he claims he will reveal an astonishing scientific breakthrough to challenge the fundamentals of human existence.

But Langdon and several hundred other guests are left reeling when the meticulously orchestrated evening is blown apart before Kirsch’s precious discovery can be revealed. With his life under threat, Langdon is forced into a desperate bid to escape, along with the museum’s director, Ambra Vidal. Together they flee to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch’s secret.

I have been a Dan Brown fan for quite a while…his books can keep you engrossed for hours and transport your imagination to places which will definitely make you want to take a trip there for real…this too will make you feel the same

Its a novel which one expects from Dan Brown. A book filled with interesting facts webbed into a fictional plot transgressing to its senseful epitome right at the end. But this one lacks the usual punch like we had in the initial novels. The heart and soul of the novel is the answers surrounding the two questions on origin and evolution and the book seems far too stretched and lacks the content. However still a good read!

  3. Pooja Tiwari (Verified Purchase)

While the topic of the book is commendable and exciting, the plot as well as the revelation in the end fell flat. Nothing earth shattering and exciting unlike his best sellers earlier. Perhaps dan is an example for peters principle. He has reached his level of inefficiency.

  4. Avinash (Verified Purchase)

Not his best work. He set the expectation so high with his initial books. inferno and now this are certainly not his best works. Concept is wonderful but the story drags a bit. And the ending is a bit of an anti climax. But still a decent one time read.

the idea of entropy being supreme in the creation process seems well researched, though you could almost see the idea of “future of all powerful AI” standing at that bend …. loses the pace at some points though, and it’s a meandering jog till the story picks up again. If you are a Dan Brown fan, does not disappoint ! …. I have rated 4 as coming after Inferno, the author does a good job of holding reader’s attention and not let it slip in the labyrinth of architecture and history
