Description

The spellbinding new Robert Langdon novel from the author of The Da Vinci Code.

Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology and religious iconology, arrives at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend the unveiling of a discovery that “will change the face of science forever”. The evening’s host is his friend and former student, Edmond Kirsch, a forty-year-old tech magnate whose dazzling inventions and audacious predictions have made him a controversial figure around the world. This evening is to be no exception: he claims he will reveal an astonishing scientific breakthrough to challenge the fundamentals of human existence.

But Langdon and several hundred other guests are left reeling when the meticulously orchestrated evening is blown apart before Kirsch’s precious discovery can be revealed. With his life under threat, Langdon is forced into a desperate bid to escape, along with the museum’s director, Ambra Vidal. Together they flee to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch’s secret.

If you have more than one Dan Brown book before this, you’ll realise there is a common skeleton around which the story is fleshed into life. Knowing this made a lot of plot-twists rather obsolete but Dan Brown did manage to surprise me once. Over all, I think this is a nice, short read and it beautifully explores the relationship between religioun and science. Although it does romanticize a few scientific concepts, I believe it was done in good faith and as such Mr. Brown deserves credit for his imagination.

No exaggeration but out of hundreds of novels that I’ve read it is by far the best. Even if we ignore the main part with origin /Atheism and stuff this is the best mystery novel u could read right now. If i could i would’ve made every superstitious devotee to read this book

The storyline is amazing and lives up to the expectations set by other Dan Brown books. The ending was a little concern for me personally as I really expected something much greater and different from what was written. Overall it is definitely a good book to have with you.

Dan brown at his best. A master storyteller with gripping narration. Beautifully written with facts and figures. The readers learn a lot from Dan’s books. His research is thorough and weaving a story around facts is no easy task. I’m looking forward for stand alone thrillers from Dan after Langdon series.

As always, Dan Brown’s extraordinary narrative and depth in details keeps you turning the page. Although, I found this not as engrossing as his other Langdon series, but it manages to keep you on the edge nonetheless. The conclusion makes one think it’s quite a logical ending considering the digital age we are living in. None can contest it but can encourage an interesting debate.
