Description
The articles in this Alphabet of Wit first appeared as Questions on the Encyclopedia, then were reprinted as Reason by Alphabet, both small pocket volumes. After Voltaire’s death, however these little rapier thrusts were padded with many of his other papers into the eight volume Philosophical Dictionary. In selecting them for a new pocket volume, publisher restore the author’s original intention.
