Description
“Tintin in the Land of the Soviets” is the first book in the Tintin series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. The book was originally serialized in a children’s magazine in Belgium in 1929-1930, and was later published as a complete book in 1930.
The story follows Tintin, a young reporter, as he travels to the Soviet Union to report on the country’s political situation. Along the way, Tintin and his dog Snowy encounter numerous obstacles and enemies, including the secret police, who are determined to stop Tintin from exposing the truth about the Soviet Union.
“Tintin in the Land of the Soviets” was Hergé’s first attempt at a comic book, and it reflects the political climate of the time, when the Soviet Union was a new and controversial regime. The book has been criticized for its simplistic portrayal of the Soviet Union and for its anti-communist bias, but it remains an important part of the Tintin series and of the history of comic books.
