Description
“Time and Time Again” is a novel by British author Ben Elton, published in 2014. The book follows the story of Hugh Stanton, a former soldier and historian, who is approached by a secret government agency to travel back in time to prevent the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in 1914, which is believed to have triggered World War I.
Stanton is initially hesitant to accept the mission, but is eventually convinced when he learns that the stakes are much higher than he initially thought. The secret agency believes that preventing the assassination could also prevent World War II and other catastrophic events that followed in the 20th century, and could even change the course of human history.
Stanton travels back in time with the help of a scientific breakthrough that allows time travel, but soon realizes that changing the course of history is not as easy as it seems. He must navigate through the complex political and social landscape of the early 20th century, and face numerous challenges and obstacles along the way.
The novel blends elements of science fiction, historical fiction, and political thriller, and explores the themes of time travel, fate, and the consequences of changing history. It received positive reviews for its gripping plot, well-developed characters, and thought-provoking themes.
