EVER since the gods of Ancient Egypt were unleashed on the modern world, Carter Kane and his sister, Sadie, have been in big trouble.

As descendants of the magical House of Life, they command certain powers. But now a terrifying enemy – Apophis, the giant snake of chaos – is rising.

If Carter and Sadie don’t destroy him, the world will end in five days’ time. And in order to battle the forces of chaos, they must revive the sun god Ra – a feat no magician has ever achieved. Because first they must search the world for the three sections of the Book of Ra, then they have to learn how to chant its spells . . .

Can the Kanes destroy Apophis before he swallows the sun and plunges the earth into darkness . . . forever?

  1. Mariyam Jithin (Verified Purchase)

I really enjoyed this book. It is written as a recording with the 2 main characters ( Carter and Sadie ) taking turns to speak which helps get 2 sides of the story. It has a great plot too.

  2. Risha Wahdat (Verified Purchase)

I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first. The beginning wasn’t as good as I hoped, in fact, when I first started reading The Kane Chronicles I was slightly reluctant; Egyptian legend wasn’t my favourite and I wasn’t as good at it. But it was enjoyable and I liked it. The second one’s ending was much more entertaining. So all in all it wasn’t as good as the first but Rick Riordan still managed to do it again.

  3. Trisha Singh (Verified Purchase)

This book is awesome. Its for everyone as it has a wonderful story line. I wish Rick writes more of this Kane chronicles. There should be movies made on this book. I waiting for such movies eagerly.

  4. Soma Mukherjee (Verified Purchase)

Although the first book didn’t seem so interesting and entertaining, this book is very much better than the other. The unexpected twists and turns, the suspense is always thrilling. I recommend this one, and henceforth give it a 5- star rating.

  5. Syed Aminuddin (Verified Purchase)

This book is really good! There funny jokes and little quips alongside the serious parts to make sure that the reader doesn’t feel like it’s all serious. Not to mention its quite interactive.
