“The Ickabog” is a children’s book written by J.K. Rowling, the renowned author of the Harry Potter series. The book was initially published in serialized form on the dedicated website TheIckabog.com between May and July 2020. Rowling wrote the story for her own children when they were younger and decided to share it with the world during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to entertain children and families.
“The Ickabog” is a fairy tale set in the fictional kingdom of Cornucopia, where the mythical creature known as the Ickabog is said to reside. The story follows two young friends, Bert and Daisy, as they embark on an adventure to uncover the truth about the Ickabog and challenge the corrupt rule of the king.
The book features illustrations contributed by children from around the world, selected through an art competition organized by Rowling’s team. The competition aimed to involve young readers in the creative process of bringing the story to life.
