Description

Dazzlingly energetic and deeply human, Swing Time is a story about friendship and music and true identity, how they shape us and how we can survive them. Moving from north-west London to West Africa, it is an exuberant dance to the music of time.

Two brown girls dream of being dancers – but only one, Tracey, has talent. The other has ideas: about rhythm and time, about black bodies and black music, what constitutes a tribe or makes a person truly free. It’s a close but complicated childhood friendship that ends abruptly in their early twenties, never to be revisited, but never quite forgotten, either..

  1. Smriti Srivastava (Verified Purchase)

It was available at half the price of new book. Frankly it doesn’t matter to me if book is new or old as I only want to read it. Saving few bucks means that I will have extra money to buy another book. Still I shall point out that book was in decent condition. There were obviously signs of usage but that can easily be ignored from the fact that new copy of this book is available for Rs 450.

  2. Nitin Sethi (Verified Purchase)

The condition of book was excellent and exceeded by expectations. I was worried if binding is strong enough to even last one read. I am half way through the book and binding is still intact and looks to be quite strong. Really good service provided.

  3. Nikita Borah (Verified Purchase)

A complex story well told. A rather sad, empty life with no salvation. How bitter so many people can be.

  4. Shalabh Pradhan (Verified Purchase)

excellent read and so incitefull, great insight into multiracial society.

  5. Devshree Shrimali (Verified Purchase)

    good book and quality
