Description

United in their rivalry, Sons of Fortune is the classic tale of two brothers engaged in a power struggle from international bestselling author, Jeffrey Archer. In the late 1940s in Hartford, Connecticut a set of twins is parted at birth. Nat Cartwright goes home with his parents, a schoolteacher and an insurance salesman. But his twin brother is to begin his days as Fletcher Andrew Davenport, the only son of a multi-millionaire and his society wife. During the years that follow, the two brothers grow up unaware of each other’s existence. Nat leaves college at the University of Connecticut to serve in Vietnam. He returns a war hero, he finishes school and becomes a successful banker. Fletcher, meanwhile, has graduated from Yale University and distinguishes himself as a criminal defence lawyer before he is elected to the Senate. Even when Nat and Fletcher fall in love with the same girl they still don’t meet. They continue on their separate paths until one has to defend the other for a murder he did not commit. But the final confrontation comes when Nat and Fletcher are selected to stand against each other for governor of the state.

  1. MOHAMMAD MOHSIN MAVI (Verified Purchase)

I don’t like archer, but he is a brilliant story writer, hence why he was a politician, story tellers, never fact. Coming to old book depot, I never heard about it before this purchase. The book came in nicely packed and condition was good. Most Jeffrey Archer books here are available at half the price.

  2. Sowjanya Lahari (Verified Purchase)

I am a big Jeffrey Archer fan and was not disappointed with the sons of fortune I have had all of his books and they just get better .

  3. Bhyrappa (Verified Purchase)

The book itself is in good condition. The story is a bit laboured in parts for a Jeffrey Archer . The author seems to write a lot of books about the American educational system wich i find a bit boring. Nevertheless, a good yarn.

  4. Awadhesh Kumar (Verified Purchase)

I am a great admirer of this particular author. The story is just great – indeed one of those “I cannot put it down” type. Arrived as promised. Great condition. Would recommend this website.

  5. Shaifali Verma (Verified Purchase)

To say I have enjoyed this book would be an understatement, in fact I feel quite bereft having come to the end and just don’t know what I will be able to read next.
I have read many Jeffrey Archer books including the Clifton Chronicles and can honestly say the only disappointment I feel is when I reach the end!!!
