Description
“Sleeping Murder” is a mystery novel by Agatha Christie featuring her iconic detective, Miss Marple. It was first published in 1976, posthumously, as it was one of the novels Agatha Christie wrote many years before but had stored away.
The story revolves around a young woman named Gwenda Reed, who has just returned to England after living in New Zealand. Gwenda and her husband move into a new home, and as she starts to decorate, Gwenda experiences unsettling flashes of memory involving a murder. She seeks the help of Miss Marple to unravel the mystery of her memories and to uncover the truth about a long-buried crime.
As with many of Agatha Christie’s works, “Sleeping Murder” is praised for its intricate plotting, clever clues, and the surprise twist that Christie was known for. Miss Marple’s sharp observational skills and understanding of human nature play a significant role in solving the mystery.
Though written many years before its publication, “Sleeping Murder” maintains the classic elements of an Agatha Christie mystery and has been well-received by fans of her work. It stands as one of the later additions to the extensive collection of detective novels penned by the “Queen of Crime.”
