Description

Feroz Gandhi: A Political Biography by Shashi Bhushan is the only known work about the life of the politician-journalist husband of Indira Gandhi. The book was first published in 1976, and it has been translated into several languages.

The book traces Feroz Gandhi’s life from his birth in Bombay in 1912 to his death in Delhi in 1960. It discusses his education, his early career as a journalist, and his political career.

Feroz Gandhi was born into a wealthy Parsi family. He was educated at the University of Bombay, where he studied law. After graduating, he worked as a journalist for several newspapers, including the Hindustan Times and the Times of India.

In 1937, Feroz Gandhi married Indira Nehru, the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. The couple had two sons, Rajiv and Sanjay.

Feroz Gandhi was a member of the Indian National Congress, the ruling political party in India. He served as a member of the Indian Parliament from 1952 to 1960.

Feroz Gandhi was a strong advocate for social justice and economic equality. He was also a critic of corruption and nepotism.

Feroz Gandhi died of a heart attack in 1960 at the age of 48. His death was a major blow to Indira Gandhi, who was then the prime minister of India.
