Description

Our journey began in fire, Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness- beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been toanything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily. Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn’t tear us apart.

I had read some much about this series that I decided to check it out. I have not read 50 Shades as yet so I cannot make any comparison to that series. I like the leading characters Eva and Gideon they definitely have chemistry and they both have secrets. Definitely got me engrossed with their story. Enjoying it so far.

The story unfold easily, but the reference to 50 shades is pretty obvious, lately there seems to be no possibility of sexual relationship without a dominatrix being involved…

  3. Virat Singh (Verified Purchase)

Sylvia Day constructs a really good story, and great characters, and her books are well edited, which is always a plus. Gideon and Eva are wonderfully drawn, flawed characters in a new relationship that really shouldn’t work, they are both too volatile because of their pasts.

  4. Kumarsen Azad (Verified Purchase)

A lot of reviews said it was what the 50 Shades trilogy could have been, and whilst I haven’t read the books, I have seen the movies and I’d agree. The characters felt very real and actually discussed their problems. Bought the second and third books already!

  5. Akanksha Singh (Verified Purchase)

if I were to read this before the Fifty Shades of Grey Triology, I may have found it better. I think I did not enjoy it as much as I was constantly comparing it to the Fifty Shades.
