Description
“Anne of the Island” is a novel written by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery, who is more commonly known by her pen name, L.M. Montgomery. It is the third book in the “Anne of Green Gables” series, preceded by “Anne of Green Gables” and “Anne of Avonlea.” “Anne of the Island” was first published in 1915.
The novel continues the story of Anne Shirley, the imaginative and spirited red-haired orphan introduced in the first book. In “Anne of the Island,” Anne is now eighteen years old and has completed her education. She decides to pursue further studies at Redmond College in Kingsport, which marks a significant departure from her life in Avonlea.
