Description

The opening of a letter leads to a desperate chase across Europe in A Matter of Honour by Jeffrey Archer, one of the world’s bestselling novelists.

Adam Scott listens to the reading of his father’s will, aware that the contents can only be meagre. The Colonel, after all, had nothing to leave – except a letter he had never opened himself, a letter that can only bring further disgrace to the family name.

Against his mother’s advice, Adam opens the letter, and immediately realizes his life can never be the same again. The contents leave him with no choice but to follow a course his father would have described as a matter of honour.

  1. Anzifa Khan (Verified Purchase)

Jeffrey Archer has done it again! His story telling is on another level. In this we meet Adam Scott who gets caught up in espionage and a mysterious icon belonging to the Russians, but which had been left to him by his late father who had served in WW2. The story itself takes place in June 1966. A very clever novel that has you reading late into the night!

  2. Prashant Verma (Verified Purchase)

Archer is not a good writer in any literary sense, and the plot relies a little too heavily on fortunate coincidences. However, this is a rattling good yarn that keeps you turning the pages right to the end.

  3. Sameer Gandhi (Verified Purchase)

This novel could easilt have been made 70-90 pages short. It was stretched.
I believe Archer doesn’t have skills to be a great writer but he sure is a great storyteller.
Read it if you have good time to spare.

  4. Mohit Dwivedi (Verified Purchase)

Not one of the best books of Jeffrey Archer. I had more expectations.

  5. Swati Sahney (Verified Purchase)

One of the better books by Jeffrey Archer. Would recommend reading it after the Kane and Abel series.
