Description

Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters is the second exciting adventure in Rick Riordan’s bestselling Percy Jackson series.

Half Boy. Half God. ALL Hero.

You can’t tell by looking at me that my dad is Poseidon, God of the Sea.

It’s not easy being a half-blood these days. Even a simple game of dodgeball becomes a death match against an ugly gang of cannibal giants – and that was only the beginning.

Now Camp Half-Blood is under attack, and unless I can get my hands on the Golden Fleece, the whole camp will be invaded by monsters. Big ones . . .

  1. Purnima Gorla (Verified Purchase)

I am a huge fan of Rick Riordan, especially his Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. This book was entertaining and continued to involve interesting and believable integrations from Greek mythology, but there were some parts of the story were, instead of devising a believable, complicated scene, Rick takes some shortcuts for ease of writing. Overall it was enjoyable, but it felt a little cheaper than the original.

  2. Shalini Kundu (Verified Purchase)

The reading level is probably about 5th grade, with kids who know Greek mythology having a decided advantage in understanding the subtle jokes and foreshadowing. The stories contain magic, violence, and oblique reference to the extramarital sex lives of the gods and goddesses.

  3. AKSHAY KUMAR (Verified Purchase)

This is probably the only series that can bring adventure, emotion, suspense at every corner, and still be totally funny. It’s rare that I laugh while reading books, but this one managed to make me crack up.

  4. Bholesh herr (Verified Purchase)

My son and I recently started reading the Percy Jackson series. They are what you would expect from a juvenile novel – these are not masterpieces of fiction, but they are very entertaining and make you want to keep reading to see what happens to Percy and his friends who, by the way, are very likable characters. You will especially enjoy these if you like mythology.

  5. Tanya Singh (Verified Purchase)

Once again Rick Riordan delivers. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how the MCs get into (and out of) all these wild adventures and learn about themselves and each other. Plus all the mythology does it for me. These books are most definitely for all ages and I highly recommend them to everyone. I’ll be visiting Percy and his friends again very soon.
