As Clarissa manoeuvres towards the autumn of her life, along with some physical changes, she goes through some psychological complexities. She recalls and relives her past days while performing her everyday chores in the present time and experiences the changes that have come in her life… In the novel, Virginia Woolf constantly examines the position of women in society and their struggles in personal lives.
