Description
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling follows Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, where a hidden chamber is opened and students are mysteriously attacked. He uncovers the truth behind the legend and confronts a dark force from the past.
Harry returns to Hogwarts despite warnings from a house-elf named Dobby, who tries to prevent him from going back. Strange events begin to unfold at the school, including messages written in blood and students being petrified. The legend of the Chamber of Secrets resurfaces, said to be created by Salazar Slytherin and home to a monster that targets students who are not from pure wizarding families. Suspicion falls on Harry due to his ability to speak Parseltongue, a rare trait associated with dark magic.
With help from Ron and Hermione, Harry investigates the mystery and discovers that the chamber is real and hidden beneath the school. He learns that Tom Riddle, a former student and the younger version of Lord Voldemort, is behind the attacks through a magical diary. In the final confrontation, Harry defeats the basilisk and destroys the diary, saving Ginny Weasley and ending the threat. The story deepens the series’ themes of identity, prejudice, and courage.
