Description

Based on the adventures of an imaginary character Greg Heffley, The Diary Of A Wimpy Kid has been described as a ‘novel in cartoons’ that is designed as part of reading material for kids aged between eight and twelve years.

Often compared with J.K. Rowling, Jeff Kinney has aptly been able to portray a kid’s inner wall: a kid who is forced into maintaining a diary by his mum but will never submit to conventions.

Greg, the kid, maintains the fact that he is not writing just a diary, but rather a journal; He also sets out to warn the reader that there will never be any ‘Dear diary’ this and that in his writings.

Regarded as a great graphic novel series for kids, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ takes the reader on a whirlwind journey to the inner world of a new-age kid.

It was great reading this book. Wimpy kid series have always been my favourites. I love to read them. They are great.

This was my first comic or the book which falls under the genre of comedy. I was used to read Adventure, Biographies, Autobiographies, Horror, Thrill and Murder, but this one was one of a kind. Jeff Kinney just nailed The Diary of A Wimpy Kid, I am going to continue with the other books in the series.

Loved the illustrations and the fonts used. Book is kinda funny to read even though you are an adult. It's a quick read and would be appropriate for any kid above 10.

The book, likely written for kids at or above a fifth or sixth grade reading level, was better reading for a 37 year old than I could have possibly imagined. Kinney picks up right where he left off with the Igdoof strip with the very same humor and art that made me enjoy it so much. The book was laugh-out-loud funny throughout and I would recommend it to not only kids, but anyone who can appreciate humor books.
