Description

“An Abundance of Katherines” is a young adult novel written by John Green. Published in 2006, the book is a coming-of-age story that combines humor, romance, and introspection.

The novel follows the story of Colin Singleton, a child prodigy who has an uncanny knack for dating girls named Katherine. After being dumped by yet another Katherine, Colin embarks on a road trip with his best friend, Hassan. Their journey takes them to a small town, where Colin decides to focus on creating a mathematical formula that predicts the outcome of relationships.

Throughout the book, Colin grapples with questions of self-worth, identity, and the nature of relationships. He is determined to find a formula that will help him predict the future of his romantic endeavors, but he learns that life and love cannot always be quantified.

“An Abundance of Katherines” is known for its quirky characters, witty dialogue, and exploration of intellectual pursuits. It delves into themes of friendship, self-discovery, and the complexities of human connection. As with many of John Green’s works, the novel combines humor with deeper emotional resonance, appealing to both teenage and adult readers.

The book offers insights into the challenges and uncertainties of adolescence, as well as the universal quest for understanding and acceptance. It’s a story that invites readers to reflect on their own experiences and relationships, while also providing a lighthearted and engaging narrative.

Perfect quality and an awesome book. Its better than the Penguin version printed in India. The one in India has poor paper quality and print is too small to read. I ordered one from Amazon but had to return it. This edition is much better.

  2. Krishna Dev (Verified Purchase)

Great book.. funny as hell.. you will laugh your guts out for sure.. the quality of the book is as better than expected from a paperback format. Probably become its a UK edition.

  3. SUBHABRATA SANTRA (Verified Purchase)

Since its listed in children’s category I shall point out that this book is for teens and adults, not for children under 10 years. Otherwise its a good book, quality was also good and delivery time was ok.

  4. Sachin Saitwal (Verified Purchase)

This is definitely underrated. People keep talking about The Fault In Our Stars & Paper Towns (mostly TFIOS though) but I’ve heard only a few discussing ABOK. Which strikes as odd as the book is a treasure trove of witty one-liners and laugh out loud moments. Green raises nerdiness to the limit here, and in the best way possible. This is a unique story about a boy who wants to be unique. I mean, who doesn’t, right?

  5. BINOD KUMAR (Verified Purchase)

Great book. Good quality and good delivery and customer service!
