Description

“Tintin and the Picaros” is the 23rd and final completed adventure comic book in the series “The Adventures of Tintin,” created by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. The story revolves around Tintin and his friends Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, and Thomson and Thompson, who travel to the fictional South American country of San Theodoros to help their friend General Alcazar overthrow the corrupt regime of General Tapioca.

Along the way, Tintin and his friends reunite with old acquaintances such as Bianca Castafiore and the incompetent detectives Dupont and Dupond. They also encounter the Picaros, a group of revolutionaries who have been fighting against General Tapioca’s regime. Tintin must navigate the complex political landscape of San Theodoros, facing obstacles such as betrayal, imprisonment, and danger at every turn.

The story was first published in weekly installments from 1975 to 1976 in the Belgian magazine Tintin, and was later collected into a book. “Tintin and the Picaros” is notable for its political themes and commentary on the nature of revolution and dictatorship. It was also the last completed Tintin adventure to be published during Hergé’s lifetime, as he died in 1983.
